Walton Jones III
A native Louisvillian, Walt Jones grew up in the Jeffersontown area and attended Landor College in South Carolina on a tennis scholarship. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Business, Walt received his real estate license in 1984. In 1987- soon after receiving his Broker’s license- he started his own business, Walton Jones Realtors. To this day, Walton Jones Realtors uses the logo from his namesake father and grandfather’s photography studio. Initially located at 2518 Frankfort Avenue, in Crescent Hill, Walton Jones Realtors was one of the first real estate companies to see the potential in the Frankfort Avenue corridor.
Realizing Frankfort Avenue’s potential as a primary link to downtown Louisville and wanting to preserve the beauty of its historic charm, Walt and a group of other like-minded “urban pioneers” founded the Frankfort Avenue Business Association in 1991. Voted in as one of the first Presidents of the Business Association, he threw his heart and soul into re-invigorating the community where he lived and worked. The Association worked alongside neighborhood volunteers to clean up and develop the area into the attractive destination it is today. With its unique shops, restaurants, art galleries, neighborhood retail and local services- Frankfort Avenue forms the backbone of the charming Clifton and Crescent Hill neighborhoods- making them some of the most popular neighborhoods in Louisville.
Walt has expertise in all facets of the real estate industry- including residential, investment, commercial (both sales and commercial leasing), and even farms. He is a member of the Greater Louisville Association of Realtors and the National Association of Realtors. He has consulted on deals big and small and has a wealth of knowledge from his 40 years in business; accordingly, he has guided hundreds of happy clients. His interests lie in many areas, including: investing in real estate, developing real estate, co-owning several popular restaurants, traveling, investing in local musicians’ careers and even distilling his own liquor. He would love to use his extensive knowledge to help you and your family with one of the biggest financial and personal decisions you will make.
